Choosing the right Batribike for you
- You might wish to cut down on car use, to save money or reduce CO2 emissions.
- You may be cycling to work, but would like to arrive fresher and less tired.
- You may already be cycling some distance but would like to extend your range or perhaps you find conventional cycling difficult through age or infirmity, but still like the fresh air and exercise that it brings.
Batribike has a range of electric bicycles suitable for the commuter and leisure cyclist.
All our bikes are limited to 15.5 mph under power to conform to UK/EU laws.
Battery bikes work in several different ways and it is important to choose the correct power delivery system to suit your needs.
Our Buyers Guide has lots of information about what to look for and how to choose the right bike for your needs. It explains the different types of assist with advantages and dis-advantages of each. Click to Download a PDF Version.
- The Diamond step through, Dutch style frame & 26” wheels.
- The Granite, MTB style with a cross bar and 26” wheels.
- The Quartz, step through folder with 20" wheels.
These models benefit from a multi-level rotation sensor power delivery system. The rider can select exactly how much assistance they require from the handlebar mounted LCD Controls. Easy to operate buttons allow the user to select more or less help instantly.
Up to six levels of power give great control to the rider, allowing minimal assistance over rough ground or in confined areas where low speed is required to maintain full control. Medium assistance is used for normal riding conditions and High assistance gives maximum help for head winds and hills.
The LCD gives a clear indication of the amount of power left in the battery, the level of assistance selected and also a Cycle Computer function giving speed and distance travelled.
The rotation sensor system senses that the pedals are turning and switches the power on to help. This system is not depedent on pressure on the pedals so that riders who are less able can still access full assistance just by selecting full power on the handlebar controls.
Riding a BATRIBIKE Electric Bike is like riding a normal cycle but with the strain taken away.
In the UK, Batribike electric bikes also have a selectable twist grip throttle. Choose this option on the handlebar controls and the throttle can then be used as a ‘launch assist’. This enables the rider to get ‘extra’ assistance when setting off which is often the hardest part of cycling. The throttle can also be used as a ‘cruise control’ to go completely under power. These bikes can also be ridden as a normal cycle when the power is switched off.
- Breeze: value step through folder with 20” wheels.
The Breeze electric bike has a rotation sensor system with three levels of power, Low, Medium and High, to give the rider maximum control. The Breeze is also equipped with a twist-grip throttle which can be as a 'launch assist" or to go completely under power.
The easy to use handlebar mounted controller has an LED gauge showing the power remaining in the battery. It also allows the rider to select the assistance level required, again shown by LEDs and a switch to turn off the power should you wish to ride as a normal bicycle.
The power delivery system used is not dependent upon how hard you press the pedals, just the fact that the pedals are turning is all that is required. This type of electric bike is especially suited to riders with impaired leg strength.
- The Micro a super lightweight compact folder with carry bag.
The Micro is the ideal battery bike for situations where space and weight are at a premium. It has folding pedals, handlebar, frame and collapsible seat to make it a versatile carry anywhere bike, yet with its padded saddle and suspension bush it gives a surprisingly comfortable ride.
The power delivery system for this battery bike is operated by a magnetic chip embedded in a silicone key tag which clips to the handlebars. The rider simply holds the chip against the handlebars with their right thumb, once pedalling the motor initialises and assists the rider, release the tag and the motor stops. This is the very simplest type of operation.
- The Batribike Trike 16 and Trike 20 are powered electric tricycles.
The Trikes offers those who have never learnt to ride on two wheels, (and those with balance problems), the ability to get out and about and enjoy the same freedom as their 2 wheeled counterparts.
Two sizes are available and both have an innovative tilting frame system which allows for tighter turns and a more comfortable riding style than a conventional tricycle. The smaller of the two frame styles is designed to be compact enough to pass through doorways. The larger trike is aimed at those requiring a larger load carrying capacity.
Both Trikes use the same easy to use handlebar mounted control system as the Breeze. This gives three levels of pedal assistance, Low, Medium and High, together with an LED battery indicator. Both models are equipped with a twist-grip throttle for full assistance and to aid starting from a standstill.
These electric tricycles can also be used without power and have a three-speed hub gear for ease of use.
