Hire an electric bike at The Helix and see The KelpiesPOSTED: 7th April 2014
Batribike dealer Easygo Electric Bikes Ltd of Linlithgow will launch a brand new electric bike hire scheme next weekend. The launch will take place at The Helix, Scotland’s newest and highly prestigious country park.
The Helix has been created in Central Scotland between Grangemouth and Falkirk. It is already shaping up to be a huge visitor attraction. The launch of the electric bike hire next weekend will incorporate a chance for visitors to see and test ride the bikes from the first of three hire locations around the park.
The first of the hire “stations” is located at the Events Arena next to the Lagoon where visitors will be able to attend the FREE demo on the 12th and 13th April. Two further hire points will be added at the Falkirk Wheel and Beecraigs Country Park in the following weeks. When all three points are open visitors will be able to hire from one “station” and return the bike to one of the others if they wish.
The weekend after the electric bike hire launch is Easter and a hugely important weekend for The Helix. It will see the grand unveiling of The Kelpies, Britain’s newest significant sculpture. The Kelpies are the worlds largest Equine sculptures and for this reason they have created global interest. Sculptor Andy Scott has created the two massive horses heads, each standing 30 metres tall and weighing in at over 300 tonnes. Kelpies are mythical beasts but this pair was modelled on two Clydesdales belonging to Glasgow City Council.
We believe that giving visitors the option to hire electric bikes so that they can enjoy some of the 350 hectares of the park will be prove to be a huge success. We would like to congratulate Gordon at Easygo Electric Bikes Ltd on bringing the whole scheme together and wish him every success for the venture.
