Commuters and leisure riders

Batribike OmegaElectric bikes can provide an excellent means of transport for commuters. Designated as a bicycle they are legal for use on cycle tracks and cycle paths allowing riders to avoid busy traffic routes and parking charges.

Electric bikes are also much in use by leisure riders who enjoy strain free riding. Pedal assist modes allow riders to choose the level of help required giving the option for less help on the flat and increased assistance for the Cornish hills.

Cornish trails

Cornwall features many recreational cycle trails, which are managed by Cornwall Council. The Camel Trail is arguably the most successful recreational multi use trail in the UK. Providing access to the beautiful Cornish countryside along a disused railway line between Wenfordbridge, Bodmin, Wadebridge and Padstow. The Camel Trail covers 18 miles of largely traffic free riding, which passes through some of the most spectacular countryside in the south west.

Cornwall is an area rich in history including mining. This is celebrated in the creation of The Mineral Tramways Heritage Project a 60km network of multi activity trails. The trails link in with existing routes such as the Coast to Coast and the Great Flat Lode Trails and, being mainly traffic-free are great for commuting or leisure use. Many of the trails closely follow the tramway and railway routes once used to transport ore and vital supplies to and from the area’s many tin and copper mines to ports such as Devoran and Portreath.
